Zebra Danio (Quantity 5)
Get five common Zebra Danios for only 7.00. These are fast swimming schooling fish that like clean, turbulent, fast moving water currents, similar to a small mountain stream. They originate in India and Nepal in the tropical foothills of the Himalayan MT range. They like to swim through and around objects in the tank such as logs, plants, sticks and other decorations. The fish we sell you are either bred & raised by us from eggs and/or they are brood stock in the finest condition. Zebras grow to a size of between 2 and 3 inches, and have average requirements for pH of 6.5 to 7.5. Their water temperature is sometimes listed slightly cooler than the average fish with between 64F to 75F degrees, while other sources list them as going to as cool as 60F and as warm as 110F. They are probably one of the widest ranging aquarium fish for temperature. We recommend a temperature range of 60F to 85F, with cooler temperatures between 65 and 75 being better if they are stressed. It's possible to have an attractive schooling appearance when placing between one and several dozen of them into a longer, 4 ft. long size tank, such as a 40g long, 55g or 75g where they have space to swim around in fast moving schools. Water changes and beams of direct artificial or natural sunlight will encourage schooling behavior. They have a short lifespan of only about 2 to 3 years so don۪t feel disappointed if you have to replenish your supply in several years.
