LifeGuard QuietOne 2200 Model water pump

This is a 2200 Model LifeGuard QuietOne water pump. 595 GPH, 10.7 ft. head, 38 watts, 1" intake & discharge: thread or poly pipe. 
 
We have found the Lifeguard Quiet One pumps to be quiet, durable, and adaptable. Water pumps are available today in many brands and models. The cheaper value pumps tend to wear out sooner and are not dependable. The impellors commonly wear in ways that cause friction and poor pump function, combined with excessive noise, months or years before it finally dies. 
 
Many pumps are less durable today only lasting between one and three years. The QuietOne pumps are durable, able to last for 5 to 10 years or more. Pump durability is also sometimes based on use. Cheaper pumps do not handle back pressure well and degrade more rapidly with back pressure if used in filtration, a sump, harsh conditions with sand or saltwater. Just because they say saltwater use does not mean they are really engineered to live up to the more demanding stress of a reef environment. These Quiet One pumps are no miracle, yet for their price range, of a mid-range, average price, they are the best on the market, along with only a few other brands that are more expensive. Therefore, they have the best bang for the buck, for a quality, dependable and most quiet pump.

They are also usable for both in-tank (submersible) and dry applications outside of the tank. The models 1200 and larger have threaded pipe fittings for ½ inch or larger PVC pipe or any pipe with threads or capable of being adapted to them (such as poly pipe fittings). They also come with poly pipe adapters. This is one of the big advantages of this pump vs. many other similar models, especially in the 1200 size category; that is most applicable, in most aquarium applications. The pumps are durable, able to last for 5 to 10 years or more. They can also have intake fittings or screens easily attached.
