False Jullii Cory Catfish
Cory Cats are fun. They are friendly social fish that live together in groups. They are one of the few affectionate types of fish. They are very social & affectionate. They stay small and grow to between 2 and 3 inches. They are omnivores and will do a good job of keeping the bottom of your tank clean. They do this not only by eating left over food & waste gunk; they also keep debris stirred up so that the filters can collect the particles. They are usually farm raised. They are hardy and easy to keep.
While they can tolerate a little salt, they are more sensitive to salt than other species. They live in acid waters commonly with tannic acids from decaying vegetation. While they are commonly listed as preferring an acid pH between 5.8 and 7.0 (and sometimes go to even lower pH levels), they are commonly found to do well in aquariums with higher pH levels up to about 7.5.
