Chinese Algae Eater
$3.99Price
These hardy fish do a great job controlling algae in the aquarium. They are sensative to poor water quality and like to have plenty of natural or artificial sunlight to grow algae as a food source. Any light suitable for aquatic plants will work and should be used, unless direct natural sunlight is used. Rocks, wood and other substrate in large amounts make good grazing surfaces for them. They will starve quickly if they do not get enough algae. Pellets, wafers and fallen flake food that are not eaten quickly by other fish will serve as food sources. If these foods are fed at night, or after dark, the algae eaters are better night time feeders than most other fish.
